A Trip Down Memory Lane at our Annual and Decades Reunion!
Following a hiatus in 2020, alumnae from across the country (and the ages!) came together again at Manchester High School for Girls on Saturday 25th September for our Annual and Decades Reunion.
School was buzzing with over 90 old girls from the Class of 1960 and '61 through to 2010 and '11 who braved the changeable autumnal weather to attend this hotly anticipated get together.
The day started with a drinks reception in the Main Hall, a room which most of our guests last saw when they sat their exams as pupils! This was also the perfect opportunity to enjoy our archivists exhibitions for each decade, with a chance to look back at photographs and school work from their time at MHSG. Mrs Jeys warmly welcomed everyone back to Man High, and invited them to enjoy a School lunch in the Dining Hall, but not quite as they might remember them!
Guests followed their two-course lunch and wine with tours of the school led by our fantastic Head Girl Team; they were able to see first-hand all of the fabulous new facilities and changes that have taken place since their time at MHSG.
I would like to thank everyone who was involved in the Reunion last Saturday. It was beautifully organised and very friendly and welcoming It was also lovely to meet the new Head Mistress. Hannah who showed us round was lovely and a very impressive ambassador for the current girls!
Marcia from the Class of 1961
We host our Annual and Decades Reunion each year, and so if you left in a year ending in a '2', then keep an eye out next Spring for your invitation!
