Our New Head Girl Team
We are delighted to announce our Head Girl for 2021-22, TiAnna, and her team Abigail, Annika, Hawa, India and Thaejus.
In a virtual assembly this morning, Mrs Jeys thanked the outgoing Head Girl Team for all their hard work over a “particularly challenging year.” She praised the Team for not taking “a metaphorical step back during the lockdowns” and instead using it as “an opportunity to do something different; to work on a project that they felt really passionate about, that of diversity.”
In the last year, outgoing Head Girl, Yoonsun, was supported by Meera, Lolu, Finn, Niamh and Nadia. Together, they led discussions, assemblies and wellbeing sessions throughout school and were a “superb team”. In their farewell speech, Yoonsun reflected on their achievements, which included delivering assemblies on diversity and mental health and their campaign for new house names that better reflect our diverse community. She thanked “everyone for their positive attitude and willingness to get involved” and recalled the fun they had creating TikToks for House competitions!
In recognition of the difficulties and isolation caused by COVID-19, new Head Girl, TiAnna, used the assembly to announce their primary focus for the next year – Community – in recognition of the lack of opportunity to socialise in recent times.
Annika added, “We want to bring back and grow the Man High community, rekindling the Man High spirit within us all.”
We look forward to seeing the Team working towards their goals over the coming year.
